“The Jewel of Battle”, Jeff Cooper. The Basic Rifle Class is to the rifle what the Modern Technique is to the pistol. This is a comprehensive class in the essential elements of safety and field rifle-craft.
Learning to operate a rifle is an essential skill every person should know. Whether a novice or a shooter who wants to enhance existing skills, the Basic Rifle Class will challenge and strengthen your marksmanship.
The class will provide a thorough understanding of exterior and terminal ballistics at ranges from 25 to 300 meters. Students will learn to hit quickly from standing (offhand), kneeling, sitting, and prone positions.
Targets are provided.

Students will shoot farther and faster than they did in Basic Rifle. Emphasis on reticle training and adjustments. Shooters will have a firm understanding of the principle of MOA or Mils as appropriate for their optics.
More advanced exercises on targets as well as more field exercises to push the skill level. Targets will be engaged at distances that are farther but still ethical in hostile conditions. Range positions will be practiced extensively so that the shooter can assume them comfortably in shorter time.
Transition to pistol will be incorporated during range exercises.

Battle Rifle Class (R03)
Battle Rifle is a class of instructions based on fighting with the .30 caliber rifle.
The student is trained on engaging targets out to 300-600 meters.
This is a class for fighting rifles, not heavy precision guns. Optics are not required, but can aid in shooting for some situations.
Training on the use and proper configuration of firearm light is part of the weeks training. Firearm setup will be covered extensively in this weeks class.
A quality two point sling is highly encouraged.

Battle Rifle Class (R03)
The student will advance their abilities in recoil management of the semi-auto 7.62x51 rifle by mastering the rapid engagement of multiple targets at ranges from 15 to 600 meters. The student will become familiar with the principles of the effects of wind, weather, trajectory, and terminal ballistics. The assumption and use of intermediate, supported and unsupported positions in a variety of conditions and environments will be used to achieve the class objectives.
Ammunition Note:
The rifle/ammo combination needs to be capable of 2.5 MOA accuracy. Most targets are only 3 MOA wide.
Pistol transition work will be incorporated.

This class examines the techniques and equipment required to engage targets from 500 to 2000 meters.
The classroom sessions cover the fine details of ballistics, methods of accurate range finding, selection of ammunition, and configuration of ballistic software.
Range sessions calibrate the rifle, telescope and ammunition into the chosen software system. Once confirmed on the known distance, students will engage more than 20 unknown distance targets from 5 separate locations at ranges from 1000 to 2000 meters!

This seven-day class covers all the techniques, tactics and procedures used by a "sniper" to get first round hits on chest size targets out to 1000 meters. Zeroing, data recording, ballistics and wind reading, observation and reporting methods, spotter/shooter communications, camouflage, and movement techniques, moving targets and more are covered in detail.
Students will work in shooter/observer pairs and engage more than 40 unknown distance targets from 12 different firing locations, allowing you to become truly competent in the art of ‘one shot, one hit’.
Due to the amount of information in this class it runs from Sunday through Saturday.

Learn to manage the environment from arm’s length to 300 meters. This class will help you become thoroughly familiar with your carbine and your capabilities with it.
We will cover all the important aspects of marksmanship, gun handling, and mindset. Students will shoot from a variety of positions and learn how to use them to conform to available cover.
In addition to the range drills, school drills, and carbine “El Presidente” drills, students will shoot on the move, learn to get off the line of attack, and transition from carbine to pistol.
Students will learn tactics that can be employed in a home or place of business

The Modern Technique, as it applies to the carbine but with a suppressor.
If you have a “can” for the carbine and want to put them through the paces without all the noise, this may be for you. The 5.56 Carbine Suppressed Class will cover the same class of instruction as 5.56 Carbine Class with less noise.
Students must supply their own suppressor and follow all federal regulations pertaining to purchase, possession and transportation.

It’s a fact that most confrontations occur in low light or darkness. It is imperative that you develop the skills and tactics necessary to prevail in these conditions.
This class will mirror the 5.56 Carbine Class, except the class will be conducted at night (1300-2300). There will be five night shoots during the class.
Mirroring conditions from the field, distance to the target is decreased with lighting being less than optimal. Advanced manipulations, short reaction times, and quick transitions to the secondary weapon is stressed.
A quality weapons mounted light and a hand-held light is a must!

The purpose of the class is to provide students a platform to ingrain tactics necessary to create and work within a team environment while deploying a carbine weapons platform. Over the course of five-days, 5.56 Carbine Team Tactics will take the student off the square range and place them in a practical environment. Teams will range in size from two to six.
5.56 Carbine Team Tactics will develop skills necessary to organize small groups into cohesive team elements to provide personal protection during large-scale civil disorder, disaster environments, and other circumstances in which groups may coalesce and require organization to provide larger defensive footprints.

This class goes beyond the basics of the carbine and delves into supporting other shooters. The shooters will work as an individual and as a team. Vehicle bailouts, shooting on the move, team movement, bounding/break contact, bounding over watch, and hostage drills will be covered.
This class has a difficulty rating of moderate. Students should be capable of getting into and out of kneeling, sitting and prone positions, getting into and out of vehicles numerous times and moving at a brisk pace through several outdoor simulators.
